Cambridge Careers

Who we are

Cambridge is an internally controlled financial solutions firm focused on serving our independent financial financial professionals and their investing clients.

At Cambridge, our purpose is to make a difference in the lives of our financial professionals, their clients, and our associates.

Over 40 years ago, Eric Schwartz, Cambridge Founder and Executive Chairman, acted with inspired vision that led the industry-wide paradigm shift – the development of a hybrid model to support freedom of choice and open architecture fee and commission platforms. Today, Cambridge supports more than 3,700 financial professionals serving hundreds of thousands of investing clients across the country. We believe a firm's culture influences its reputation. We think you can take a hard look at a firm's stated mission and values and compare that to how the firm's management and staff engage with financial professionals and manage business activity.

Cambridge’s national reach includes: Cambridge Investment Research Advisors, Inc. – a large corporate RIA; and Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. – an independent broker-dealer, member FINRA/SIPC, that is among the largest internally controlled independent broker-dealers in the country.

Our standard benefits package includes eight paid holidays; sick/vacation days; premium benefit package including medical, vision, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance; wellness incentive with participation of annual health screenings; enrollment in the Profit-Sharing Plan (PSP); and 401k retirement plan with company match program.

At Cambridge, we work to promote a healthy lifestyle for associates in both their personal and professional lives through a wide variety of wellness benefits and initiatives. We offer our associates paid time off for volunteering, local recreation center discounts, financial planning courses, and so much more. Additionally, we provide our associates with abundant career opportunities through professional development, promotions from within, and career growth assistance. Associate professional development is highly encouraged through our in-house Associate Training and Development Team with a variety of opportunities provided including online and live trainings, courses lead by nationally recognized speakers, and local and national industry specific conferences.

Cambridge is located on a beautiful 60-acre campus in rural Fairfield, Iowa, with more than 80,000 square feet of office space and a quarter-mile walking trail. In the summer, our associates enjoy taking walks around the pond, playing a quick round of bags, or participating in our annual company-wide volleyball tournament. When the temperature begins to drop, the activities move indoors with ping-pong competitions, an annual weight-loss challenge, and yoga sessions. We believe that work-life balance is the key to individual success. When life is enjoyed, we all prosper.
